UConn Health Half Marathon, 10K and 5K

The long-time, beloved race tradition on Iron Horse features a picturesque two-loop 13.1 mile course along the Farmington River and local farmlands, with 10K and 5K race distance options. The post-race party is highlighted by delicious fresh food served alongside refreshing craft beer.

Participants in all race distances earn a short-sleeve race technical shirt and a custom finisher medal.

NEW IN 2024: Take on the Spring Hustle to enjoy some extra motivation through the season! Choose the distances to personalize a challenge plan and achieve three race finishes in this new walker-friendly challenge. Start with the Middletown 5K or 10K on April 7, then choose any distance in Rocky Neck on April 21; and finish with any distance in Simsbury to crush the Spring Hustle and earn the special finisher medal.

BACK FOR 2024: The ultimate state challenge…the Connecticut Double! Run the UConn Health Half in June and work up to the premier 26.2 mile experience in Connecticut at the Eversource Hartford Marathon on October 19. Take home the exclusive commemorative medal after finishing under the iconic Arch in Hartford.

Give Back: Please help give back to the community. Donate nonperishable food in the HMF Can tent at Packet Pickup to support the Hartford High School “Grub Pub”, part of the Stop & Shop School Food Pantry Program.

Run to support Girls On The Run Greater Hartford in their mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using fun, experience-based curricula that creatively integrates running.

Event Schedule:

7:15 AM: 10K

The 10K start is on Iron Horse Blvd at Jim Gallagher Way (0.4 miles from pre race area)

7:30 AM: Half Marathon & 5K

The Half start is on Iron Horse Blvd at Phelps Lane (just outside the pre race area)

The 5K start is on Iron Horse Blvd at Wilcox St (0.3 miles from pre race area)

9:00 AM: HMF FitKids Run

The kids runs will take place on the soccer fields inside the Simsbury Performing Arts Center

Post Race Party:

7:45 AM – 10:45 AM: Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center

Celebrate your amazing accomplishments together with music, delicious food served up fresh, grab & go snacks featuring Bakery On Main granola and LesserEvil popcorn, and ice cold beer. Must be 21+ years of age with proper ID to receive the complimentary beer.

8:30 AM: 5K & 10K Award Ceremony

9:00 AM: Beer Tent Opens

9:45 AM: Half Marathon Award Ceremony
